Ari Bikes Electrifies the Award-Winning Shafer with New Shafer HP!

Shafer’s Award-Winning Gravel DNA, Electrified. TQ-powered Shafer HP brings a lightweight, whisper-quiet assist to the gravel and adventure bike riders already love.

Lindon, UT - 10/13/2026 - Ari Bikes today announced the Shafer HP, an electric version of its award-winning Shafer gravel and adventure platform. Built around the TQ HPR 60 drive unit, the Shafer HP keeps the geometry, ride feel, and versatility of the original Shafer and adds power for long, high-output days.
"The Shafer HP is everything riders love about the Shafer, electrified," said Tyler Cloward, Director of Product. "It's for the rider who wants to go farther, keep up with friends, or use it as a training tool for Zone 2 days."

Performance adventure, with a natural feel
The Shafer HP is designed to feel like a gravel bike first. It's stable and planted but still nimble, with engineered frame flex that smooths rough roads and the strength to take on singletrack. The assist is smooth, natural, and whisper quiet, and the system stays lightweight at about 28 lbs total bike weight on average.
Power and range
● Drive unit: TQ HPR 60 with 60 Nm of torque and 350 W of power, weighing just 1.9 kg (4.18 lbs) IP67 rated so it's easy to live with - no issues if your route has some splashing or water crossing; hose off or wash and maintain like any other bike.
● Modes: Individually tunable Eco, Mid, and High
● Battery: 360 Wh integrated battery

Range Extender: Optional 160 Wh range extender that plugs in and switches power sources automatically, with no extra rigging or manual transition
Control and customization
Riders can change assist modes from the hoods with TQ controllers, and even sync up additional controls using SRAM bonus buttons, or adjust directly on the bike's screen. Assist settings can be customized in the app to match each rider's needs.
Built for more kinds of riding
● Bikepacking and long days: extended range and room for gear, bottle/accessory mounts in the front triangle and on the fork
● Commuting: fender attachment points and routing for a dynamo to run lights or chargers
● Training: dial in the assist to stay in Zone 2 and ride real-world, year-round workouts in place of the indoor trainer
● Any surface: gravel, asphalt, or singletrack, with clearance for tires up to 58mm (2.2") and compatibility with suspension forks and dropper posts
● Hydration: at least two bottle mounts in the front triangle on every size, and three on sizes M-XL, additional mounts on the fork

Frame and quality
The Shafer HP uses the same geometry as the Shafer and is built with Ari's CleanCast carbon layup and award-winning Monoform construction, making it extra light and strong. It’s backed by a Lifetime + Transferable Warranty.
