Transition Spur

Over the years, XC has steadily become my favorite discipline of riding. It sums up everything I love about mountain biking perfectly. The excercise element, the pace, the time spent in nature, the technical aspect of taking your short travel bike on trails it probably shouldn't be on. I love all of it!

In the process of falling in love with XC I have also been fortunate enough to test a wide variety of XC bikes. The Specialized Epic, Yeti ASR, Cannondale Scalpel, Pivot Mach 4 SL and so many more have left lasting impressions on me and helped shape what I want from an XC bike. When I first saw the updates to the new Spur I knew it was exactly what I wanted to create my dream XC build!

Why the new Spur for a dream build? Transition has always made bikes they want to ride and their staff is definitley on the sendier side of the mtb spectrum. With that comes a little more of a durable style feel to an XC platform on the Spur. It is light but stiff and has a very stable feel with the updated geo. Longer chain stays helps keep things balanced at speed and clean look to the frame made it a no brainer!

Here is my dream XC Build: Affiliate links below help support Awesome MTB

Frame: Transition Spur Size XL. One of the cleanest looking lines of an XC frame. Stock is 130mm / 120mm but I am running it 120/120. New spur also has internal frame storage and a high and low link system.

Fork: Cannondale Lefty Carbon Ocho. The best XC fork on the market in my oppinion. Yes, you can run the Lefty on a wide variety of XC bikes just like a normal fork!

Rear Shock: Fox Float X Neo. Plush meets efficient, this 190 x 45 shock option is pretty game changing if you are looking for a quick lockout and more aggressive option shock for XC

Drivetrain: Sram 1987. One of the cleanest looking drivetrains! Limited to 1987 made, the polished look is insane!

Bars: Enve M6 760mm. I still feel like 31.8 bars have more give than 35mm and prefer them for XC! Love the M6's.

Brakes: Sram Motive Ultimates. Amazing modulation and stopping power! Plus the carbon levers feel super good in tech.

Computer: Hammerhead Karoo. One of the best digital displays on a riding computer plus lots of integrations with your phone apps and bike components.

Dropper / Saddle: Reverb AXS and Specialized Power Mirror. The Reverb is so quick to return and gets rid of a cable, very relaible as well! The Specialized Saddle is so comfortable and looks so cool too!
